● Active union members
● Minimum of 5 years as an educator
● Active, valid teaching license in the state in which you are teaching
● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse audiences
● Proficiency in online office software usage, such as Google Office Suite
● A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion to support students, peers, and new teachers
● Be open and committed to building intentional professional relationships and collaborating with experienced professionals and peers to learn and improve.
● Have meaningful work sessions with New Teachers on a bi-weekly basis and maintain weekly communication to support teaching practice using the ELP Coaching Handbook, Action Charter & Rubric
● Connect with In-Person Mentor (if assigned to an out-of-state new teacher) online to share ideas and strategies to support their New Teacher.
● Attend regional workshops
● Submit program surveys to communicate progress & contribute to program improvement.
● Approximate monthly time commitment: 15-30 hours per month (depending on # of mentees)
